Happy Valentines Day!
I figured today was a perfect day to post this deliciously sweet wedding.
Thank you to Diane and Todd for being so much fun!!!!!!
Joanna & Miguel were originally supposed to have their wedding at Red Hat on The River, but Hurricane Sandy had other plans for the venue. They had less than a month to pull the wedding together at a new local and in another county, (Westchester to Nassau). They decided to have the wedding closer to home, (gas was scarce). They moved it to Aperitif in Rockville Center. The intimate ceremony was held in the dining room. They danced their first dance to, ” The Nearness of You”, performed by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. If you haven’t heard this version then run to iTunes and get it. In the blogshow you see four waiters in the lighted doorway, they are watching Joanna and Miguel’s, (very sweet). Joanna’s Dad and I both agreed, when the wedding was over we could not imagined it being any more perfect or any different than it was. Thank you Joanna and Miguel for a perfect afternoon.- DC
A big thank you to Rachel and Vito for being so much fun to work with. Check out the blogshow below to see all of the highlights from this wonderful couple’s wedding day!

The Carltun- Meaghan + Domenico’s Wedding
I photographed Dom’s brother Lou’s wedding a few years ago. It was great to see so many familiar faces.
During the parent dances each pair danced to a slow song then an upbeat song. Meg & her Dad broke out into “Blue Suede Shoes” and Dom & his Mom to “Mama Mia”. Dom’s Mom in her lovely Italian accent said to me, “That was so beautiful dancing too that song”.
It was precious, but then the whole day was precious and beautiful. Thank you Meg & Dom for such a beautiful day! Congrats!!!

I was so excited to discover this past weekend that two of my photos were honored by The Wedding Photojournalist Association. They have quarterly members only contests. Thank you to the amazing WPJA and their judges for their recognition. Both images are from Jen and Erik’s summer 2011 wedding at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.

Bridgewaters New York City-Kerri and Michael’s Wedding
Congratulations to Kerri and Michael! Thank you for letting us be part of your wedding day.
Below is an abbreviated gallery of my favs from their wedding, (I had a lot and had to cut it down).
-Quick side note: Kerri and Mike’s parents were asked to come to the dance floor to dance to their own wedding song. Both couples were married a couple of years apart and had selected the same wedding song. As I photographed their dance I thought to myself, “Wow what are the chances? What song could this be?” It was, “I only have eyes for you”, by The Flamingos 1959. Ever since I saw A Bronx tale I’ve loved that song. It was one of the signature songs on my own wedding day.

From ice-cream trucks to trolleys, Jamie and Tristan’s wonderful wedding was so much fun to photograph. Not too long ago we completed their wedding album. I thought it would be perfect to share with you on the blog. It’s a great opportunity to see my client’s favorite photos from their wedding day. This was a high energy day that I will not forget, (check out the reception photos). A big thank you to Jamie and Tristan for being such a pleasure to work with. All the best! Denise

We just completed the first issue of, “Weddings by Modern Wedding Photography’, newlyweds helping the newly engaged. I like to think of it as a handbook/magazine for our clients. A super big thank you Kasey & John and Jen & Billy for your wedding day insight and wisdom. I had a great time reading your answers and learn a little more about your special days. I also would like to thank Lauren Merzbacher for all fab tips in the, “Wedding Planning”, article. Erin is so busy planning her wedding and she took some time to provide a few makeup tips, thank you! I’m a huge lover of the arts. Anytime I’m at a new local I always have to investigate the local art scene. Right here in Nassau County we have a treasure of a museum, The Nassau County Museum of Art. I had the great opportunity speak to Frances Diesu of the NCMA and learned how you can have your wedding at the museum. She was so gracious meeting with me and I could not thank her enough.
The hard copy of the magazine should be available early spring. I hope you enjoy the online copy. If you would like a copy for your iPad you can down load it from issuu who is hosting the online version. Once you click on the magazine, tap the print button on the screen and you will see the download menu.
More thank yous…… I also want to thank Tracy and Adam for gracing the cover, Lauren & Curtis who are featured in the Wedding Day Timeline article, Jesse & Kate, Lauren & Chris, Emily & Vern, Danielle & Brian, Dina & Andy, Janine & Rich, Jeanine & Peter, Jen & Erik, Erika & Daniel, Reina & Drew, Nicole & Alex, Kate & Robert, Meghan & Jesse, Michelle & Paul!
